WELCOME
The Fisherman’s Lodge on the banks of the River Test offers charming accommodation in the idyllic garden of historic Wherwell Mill. The converted barn is divided into two stunning studio spaces - Egret and Heron Lodges. Inspired by the tranquillity of the river and the beauty of the surrounding valley, the light spacious rooms, oak floors and muted colours all create an atmosphere of relaxation.

Both lodges are self-catering studio rooms, with en-suite bathrooms. They can be booked separately or together and are suitable for up to 2 guests each. They are adjacent but not adjoining so there isn't a connecting door and they have separate entrances. The rooms can be made up as 2 single beds or a super king-size double.

Guests are free to use the peaceful garden with spectacular views of the river and water meadows. There is an abundance of river life and birds – you’re likely to see kingfishers, swans, egrets, woodpeckers and wagtails to name a few. If very lucky, you might see an otter at dusk.

Wherwell is well located - just over an hour from London, and 15 minutes from Winchester, it’s an ideal base to enjoy the world-class fishing on The River Test. The Wherwell beats are right on our doorstep.

The village has picture-perfect thatched houses, the earliest dating back to 1516. Wherwell Church is a stone's throw away on the other side of the river and the gentle chiming of the bells is a wonderfully uplifting sound.

Around and about there is plenty to do for all interests and ages from bronze-age forts, to dreamy water gardens, museums and the fantastic hawk conservancy.

We look forward to welcoming you to stay.
